2010 Dove Harbor in Review

Dove Harbor became a certified United Way agency.
Dove Harbor had a 66% success rate.
Dove Harbor served 19 women and 21 children.
*  Dove Harbor residents were re-united with their children.
*  Nine women that came to Dove Harbor without jobs found employment.
*  Dove Harbor said “goodbye” to Johnna Barnard, who successfully led: the Fund Development activities, volunteer program & donations (& so much more).
*  Dove Harbor welcomed Deanna Zimmer as the new Director of Resource Development & Barb Hilligoss as the Interim Building Manager.  We also expanded our Office Manager position to 5 days a week with Tonya Dilts & Liz Elden job sharing.
*  Dove Harbor staff attended educational conferences to stay on the cutting edge of effective programming to families in poverty.
*  Dove Harbor implemented the Mentor Program - 9 women from 6 different churches have completed the Mentoring training & 6 are now matched with a Dove Harbor resident.
*  Dove Harbor created the Graduate Aftercare Program to be implemented in 2011.
*  Dove Harbor was able to purchase 2 new commercial grade washers & dryers through a grant from the Noon Lions Club.
*  We successfully used $6,200 of a grant from Job Source to support Dove Harbor families in getting & keeping employment.
Living with Intention sponsored the Christmas Carol production, at Madison Park Church of God, helping Dove Harbor raise $12,000.
Toles Flowers fundraiser:  (November - January) Goal: $2,500 - awaiting final numbers.
Madison Park Church of God / Holy Grounds contribution:  (October - December) Raised:  $1,250.
Texas Roadhouse Tips Day fundraiser brought in $1,600.
Leadership Academy of Madison County’s Season of Giving Gift Fair brought in $1,800 (corporate match included in total).
Elder Beerman’s Community Days brought in $240.
Homeward Bound Walk brought in $4,622.
Culver’s fundraiser brought in $1,250.
Madison Park Zumba health education event to benefit Dove Harbor raised $2,500.
Break the Cycle VII raised $3,650 for Dove Harbor.
*  Four Master level students provided 1,054 hours.
*  Twelve Bachelor level students provided 662 hours.
*  Volunteers provided an estimated 800 hours.
